don't do it! okay!

amusement!

so we went to the dump to -- well, dump -- a bunch of crap from the old warehouse. Mostly old sets and shelves that the company hasn't used since the early nineties. So yeah. It was fun. On the first of two days we spent chucking stuff out of the back of trucks, we dumped 9,000 pounds of crap. The coolest things, though, were the huge trash compactors... there were two of them demolishing everything we dumped out of the backs of trucks. It's amazing to watch a pretty solidly built set piece, be it a podium, wall, huge rolling set piece, explode like a balloon when one of these trucks ran over it.

awesome.

this is about what they look like:

don't judge by the picture, though: they're monstrous in person.

the second day we went, one of the operators stopped the compactor, got out onto his little platform thing, and started talking to us. we think he was hitting on me. heh.

the dump is way too much fun. we almost got the truck stuck in the mud a few times, but it's all good.
so much fun. :)
