I am the terror that flaps in the night!

Well, I was working on this post and had it mostly finished... when I left my computer unplugged and the battery died completely. Eh, well. Such is life.

Oh, and if you're ever at a loss on what to do with those pesky little munchkins, Johnsonville knows what they're doing when it comes to kids.

Anywho, I have two bits of wisdom to pass on to humanity today...

1. When you eat at a cheap Chinese buffet, you get what you pay for. Solution? Raid the Jell-O bowl. As everyone knows, Jell-O isn't actually meant to be eaten; it's meant to be played with. Why else would they make it so much fun?

2. Dollar stores are the best places to get weird crap for almost nothing. It's like going through some batty neighbor's attic, but with a register and a bigger stock. All I have to say is this: if you've got a birthday coming up, you'd better watch out.

I'm actually taking the trouble to document some of the, erm... treasures I found. So sit back and enjoy.

First up, we have a box of Cyber Speak candy! Wooo!

It's essentially like candy hearts, but they're little candy floppy disks with "cyber talk" printed on them.

Brought to you by the folks at Necco, who shamelessly advertise by printing candies with "www.necco." Nice.

Next up is Dummies Man! "Get it done and have some fun" is his motto! Honestly, who at the "for Dummies" firm thought this one up? And is it any wonder that this bendable, triangle-headed guy is available for a dollar apiece? I pitied him and brought him home with me. Now, at last, he has a home!

I still find it amusing that "for Dummies" is trademarked... it's classified as intellectual property. Irony at its best...

I don't know what first attracted me to this little marvel... was it the advertised "Fill your brain, then empty it!" or was it the creepy-looking pig-boy coolly leaning against a sharpened pencil? Regardless, I find it plenty amusing. It's a brain-shaped eraser that houses a pencil sharpener. I just couldn't pass it up.

I left my favorite for last. It's Darkwing Duck in the form of a night light! Holy cow!

Sorry, but when there's trouble, you call DW, and that's all there is to it. I loved this cartoon... definitely one of my all-time favorites. There's not much else to say about this little piece of awesome, except that Dennis is waiting for it to burn the house down. I keep trying to tell him that such an amazing super-hero would never do such a thing. He still doesn't believe me. *sigh* oh, well.
